More Than an Aerial Photograph
Unlike a standard drone photo, an orthomosaic is built from hundreds or even thousands of overlapping aerial photographs. Each image is processed, corrected, and precisely aligned to create a seamless, georeferenced map. The result is an image that can be viewed, measured, and analyzed with confidence. Unlike traditional aerial photography, there is no perspective distortion. Roads remain straight. Buildings maintain their true shape. Distances and areas can be measured directly from the finished map.
RTK Accuracy Matters
Not all drone maps are created equal. Sky Monkey Media utilizes RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) drone technology to improve positional accuracy during every flight. Combined with professional processing workflows using DroneDeploy and WebODM, RTK significantly improves map consistency and provides reliable data for planning, documentation, and progress monitoring. For projects requiring additional precision, Ground Control Points (GCPs) can also be incorporated when appropriate.
